NSE BENIN CHAIRMAN JOINS PRESIDENT’S ENTOURAGE TO RUSSIA FOR UNESCO MINING ROUNDTABLE
The Chairman of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Benin Branch, Engr. Dr. (Mrs.) Tina Emwinghare Oigiagbe, FNSE, in company of other distinguished engineers, has arrived in St. Petersburg, Russia, for a high-level roundtable discussion themed “Shaping the Future of the Mining Industry: Relevant Competencies and a New Standard.”
The event is organized by the International Center of Competence in Mining Engineering Education under the auspices of UNESCO, and aims to explore evolving global standards, competencies, and regulatory frameworks critical to the mining profession of the future.
Engr. Dr. Oigiagbe is part of the official entourage of the President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Engr. Margaret Aina Oguntala, FNSE, who is scheduled to speak on the topic: “Regional Cooperation and National Regulation: The Nigerian Experience in Strengthening the Engineering Profession across Africa.”
The roundtable, which will hold on 31st October, 2025, at the University of Mining, St. Petersburg, will bring together experts and stakeholders to discuss issues such as the competencies required for the mining engineer of the future and the role of international standards in shaping national qualification systems.
