Nse Benin branch , elects new executive committee members for the 2025-2026 Engineering year

NSE BENIN BRANCH ELECT NEW EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBERS FOR 2025-2026 ENGINEERING YEAR

The Annual General Meeting of The Nigerian Society of Engineers Benin Branch took place today under the strict observation of The NSE National Headquarters Representative Engr. Mrs. Mojirade Oluruntoba, FNSE.
The high point of The Annual General Meeting was the election into vacant positions conducted by the three man Electoral Committee members headed by Engr. Dr. Famous Igbinovia, FNSE as Chairman, Engr. Dr. A. Agbonaye, FNSE as Secretary while Engr. Friday Osaghae served as member.
Accreditation of eligible voters started at about 3.55pm and closed at about 4.30pm with forty-seven (47) members of the branch accredited for the exercise.

Voting commenced immediately after the accreditation was concluded. In the keenly followed exercise, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Edo State, Engr. Dr. John Obanor FNSE, emerged as Vice Chairman of the branch. His wealth of experience in public service and engineering practice will no doubt add great value to the vision and progress of the branch in the coming year.
The details of votes received by the elected executives are:

1. VICE CHAIRMAN: Engr. Dr. John Obanor FNSE – 46 Votes and returned elected
2. GENERAL SECRETARY: Engr. Martins Amune - 45 Votes and returned elected
3. ASSISTANT GENERAL SECRETARY: Engr. Edwin Ogbejiele FNSE - 45 Votes and returned elected
4. TREASURER: Engr. Edionwe Evans - 46 Votes and returned elected
5. FINANCIAL SECRETARY: Engr. Randolph Opute - 43 Votes and returned elected
6. TECHNICAL SECRETARY: Engr. Dr. Cordilia Omoyi – 43 Votes and returned elected
7. ASSISTANT TECHNICAL SECRETARY: Engr. Daniel Omozokpia
8. PUBLICITY SECRETARY: Engr. Dr. O. Marvis Edohen – 46 Votes and returned elected
9. EX-OFFICIO 1: Engr. Dr. Oduware Okosun – 44 Votes and returned elected
10. EX-OFFICIO 2: Engr. Osaro Morgan Charles – 44 Votes

However, the post of the Assistant Technical Secretary was not contested for.
All the Elected Executives were sworn in by the Chairman, Engr. Dr.Tina E. Oigiagbe Ph.D, FNSE

The branch commends the outgoing executives for their dedication and achievements in the 2024/2025 Engineering Year, while expressing optimism that the newly elected team will build on these foundations to deliver greater impact.
