NUESA Pays Courtesy Visit to Chairman of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Benin Branch
On Monday, 6 October 2025, the National President of the Nigerian Universities Engineering Students’ Association (NUESA), Joshua Ojo Idemudia,led a delegation of student engineers on a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Benin Branch, Engr. Dr. Tina Emwinghare Oigiagbe, FNSE.
The visit provided an opportunity for constructive dialogue between upcoming engineering professionals and an established leader in the profession. Discussions centered on strengthening collaboration between the NSE and university engineering students, enhancing mentorship and professional-development pathways, and improving access to internships, workshops and local industry linkages for students.
Engr. Dr. Oigiagbe welcomed the delegation and emphasised the importance of practical exposure, ethical practice and continuous learning for emerging engineers. She encouraged active engagement with professional bodies and pledged the branch’s support for initiatives that prepare students for the demands of the engineering profession.
The meeting concluded with mutual commitments to pursue concrete activities including mentoring sessions, technical seminars and networking events to bridge the gap between academic training and professional practice. NUESA expressed appreciation for the warm reception and reaffirmed its dedication to cultivating competent, professional engineers who will contribute meaningfully to national development.
